The Twins are halfway through the 2017 season and Paul Molitor’s club is still exceeding expectations.  At 43-40, they’re light-years ahead of the 2016 team that finished with the worst record in baseball. The Twins last season didn’t pick up their 42nd win until Aug. 2, when they were already 20 games under .500.  Right-hander Kyle Gibson tossed his longest outing of the year to help push the Twins past the Angels, 5-4, on Tuesday at Target Field. Minnesota has won 10 of its last 13 meetings with Los Angeles, including six straight at home.

Minnesota Nice is something a lot of Minnesotans are proud of. And former Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio felt that love during his tenure in Minnesota.  “The people over there are the nicest people on Earth, I think,” Rubio said to the Associated Press. “I’m truly going to miss that.”  Rubio also said he hopes the Wolves make the playoffs – something they never did in his six seasons with Minnesota, prolonging the longest playoff drought in the NBA among all active teams.
